Bread that
demands you
slow down.

At Speakeasy, every loaf is a conversation between time and technique. We bake for the patient — sourdoughs that prove for 36 hours, pastries built by hand at dawn, and a grocery curated like a secret you'd hate to share.

Our Story

We opened a door
that most people
walk right past.

Speakeasy began with a simple conviction: that the best food in Denver doesn't need a loud sign or a long line. It needs good flour, patient hands, and the willingness to do things the slow way.

Tucked on Blake Street in the LoDo neighborhood, our bakery and grocery have become a quiet ritual for neighbors who know that a proper loaf of bread changes everything — the morning routine, the Sunday dinner, the way a city feels on a Tuesday.

The Bread

Every loaf has a
personality.

Golden ciabatta loaf with a flour-dusted crust

Ciabatta

High-hydration dough, open crumb, a crust that sings. Baked for the olive oil and the simplest tomato.

Rustic sourdough boule with deep scoring

Country Sourdough

Our signature. 36-hour wild-ferment in a sourdough starter we've tended since day one. Thick, crackling crust.

Buttery flaky croissant with golden layers

Butter Croissant

French technique, Colorado butter. 72 layers, laminated by hand every morning. Shatters, then melts.

Dark rye bread with visible seeds and dense crumb

Rye & Seed

Dense, slightly sweet, studded with caraway and sunflower. The kind of bread that makes you respect grain.

Pain au chocolat with visible chocolate bars inside

Pain au Chocolat

Two bars of Valrhona inside flaky, buttery layers. Our most popular morning item — and for good reason.

Gluten-free loaf with a golden crust

Gluten-Free Loaf

Made in a dedicated gluten-free environment. Not a compromise — a commitment. Light crumb, rich flavor.

Seasonal varieties available daily. Ask at the counter.

The Grocery

A pantry you'd
actually be proud of.

Beyond the bakery case sits a carefully assembled grocery — every item chosen for why it matters: where it comes from, who made it, and whether it earns a place in your kitchen.

We stock Colorado dairy, small-batch olive oils, house-made preserves, aged cheeses from Western Slope creameries, fresh pasta from local makers, and a rotating selection of things we'd tell our friends about.
